Girls Go IT courses

Girls Go IT are free courses provided by the AGH University of Science and Technology and the Try IT Foundation as part of a grant awarded by the Motorola Solutions Foundation. Their goal is to present the right tools and skills thanks to which women will be able to build their careers to become valued experts in the new technology sector. So far, there have been two editions of the Girls Go IT course and additional courses: GGIT: Creating Modern Internet Applications and GGIT: Basics of Programming in Java. The program is aimed at women of different age groups who are interested in IT and want to take the first step towards becoming a specialist in this industry. The program of the project has been developed to be a practical introduction to the world of IT and the basis for further extending the acquired skills. In addition to the classes conducted by lecturers from the AGH University of Science and Technology in Cracow, the project also includes a mentoring program.

Girls Go IT mentoring program

A mentoring program is available for participants of the Girls Go IT courses organized by the TRY IT Foundation. These are 1:1 meetings, during which students can talk to mentors of their choice about everything related to the IT industry. Mentors are always experts with extensive industry experience. The Girls Go IT mentoring program helps participants to look at their skills differently. During the talks, they can find out in which areas it is worth developing, what to pay attention to when planning their career, and see that the IT industry is open to women and it is worth deciding to develop in this direction.

Program for primary schools students: "DIGITAL WORLD: Your power online"

As part of the workshop, we share our knowledge and experience on the latest cyber threats, wise use of the network, the fight against cyberbullying and digital hygiene. We believe that the Internet can be a fascinating space for learning, development, entertainment and building relationships, as long as we learn to use it responsibly from an early age, and as adults we support and protect children and youth in the face of threats. Classes are conducted by employees of the AGH University of Science and Technology and experts. Ultimately, we want the program to cover all schools in Małopolska. In the afternoons, cyclically, it will also be dedicated to parents and teachers. The workshops consist of four complementary modules and take place in schools or in teaching rooms at AGH University of Science and Technology.

Any interested school or a single class located in the Lesser Poland Voivodeship, please contact us.
